Social Media Burnout: Why We Need 'Slow' Networks

Doomscrolling is destroying our mental health. It is time to switch to platforms designed for reflection, not addiction.

We have all been there: you open your phone to check the time, and 45 minutes later you are still scrolling through videos of strangers, feeling anxious and unproductive. This is "doomscrolling," and it is a feature, not a bug, of modern social media.

The Anti-Feed Algorithm

Yearbook Inc. is designed to be a "Slow" Social Network. We don't have an infinite scroll. We don't have an algorithm designed to keep you addicted.

Instead, we focus on Intentional Memory Building. You come to our app to build something, to reflect on your week, or to connect deeply with a close circle of friends. When you are done, you close the app and go back to living your life.

Technology should serve you, not the other way around. It is time to reclaim your attention span.
